Go was guest speaker in the 2018 Midyear Commencement Exercises of the Bulacan State University (BulSU) here on Wednesday.

In his message to the 480 graduating students, he said after Cebu, Tacloban, Iloilo, Palawan, Bacolod, Dumaguete and the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), the next Malasakit Center will rise in the province.

“The center is a one-stop shop comprised of different agencies, which can provide help to  families of patients who wish to settle medical expenses, such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO),” he said.

“The soon-to-rise Malasakit Center here in Bulacan will be provided with PHP5 (million) to PHP10 million funds initially so patients can avail of free medicines,” Go said as he reiterated President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to make all resources of government available to help the poor.

He also noted the free tuition in state colleges and universities under the Duterte administration.

“I believe that you are the first batch that benefitted from the free education in state universities, like Bulacan State University and by next year, the miscellaneous fee will be also free,” Go said.

Dr. Cecilia S. Gascon, BulSU president, introduced the commencement speaker as the “pambansang (national) photo bomber of President Rodrigo R. Duterte” as Go is always beside the Chief Executive.

“SAP Go is the all-around man and the go-to guy by President Duterte.

He is also the ‘selfie king’ and his photographs give us a clear glimpse of important national and international events, which have effects of bringing the Filipino people closer to the President and the President closer to the people,” Gascon said.

Also present during the commencement exercises were Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and his son, Bulacan 1st District Rep. Jose Antonio Sy- Alvarado, Buhay Partylist Rep. Michael Fermin, retired general Francisco Villaroman, member of the Board of Directors of Clark Development Corp.; Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Prospero E. de Vera III; and Dr. Romeo Santos, president of the BulSU Alumni Association. (PNA)
