While complying with strict health and safety protocols imposed by authorities, Go and his team distributed meals, medicines, financial assistance, food packs, vitamins, masks and face shields to 115 families, comprising 386 individuals. The distribution was held at Alabang Elementary School.
“Kaunting tiis lang po, mga kababayan ko. Malalagpasan natin itong pandemyang ito,” Go said.
Go’s team also gave away bicycles to selected recipients which will help them in their daily commute to work amid limited public transport option due to community quarantine measures being imposed.
Go also told fire victims that once the COVID-19 vaccine is considered safe, effective and available, the government will prioritize and ensure access to the poor and the vulnerable sectors, as well as frontliners.
Representatives of the Department of Social Welfare and Development were also present during the distribution of aid to provide separate additional financial assistance to the fire victims.
Personnel from the Department of Trade and Industry and National Housing Authority were also present to assess and validate possible beneficiaries for the livelihood and housing assistance from the government, respectively.
Go also recognized the local government officials, including Representative Ruffy Biazon, and barangay officials of Brgy. Alabang headed by Brgy. Chairwoman Tin-Tin Abas, for taking care of the fire victims. He also expressed gratitude to Principal Marissa Andanza of Alabang Elementary School for supporting the distribution activity.
